Why We Made Exam Prep Free
Realty License Prep exists to remove the cost barrier from real estate exam preparation. Pre-licensing education already costs hundreds of dollars depending on the state. Exam fees add another $50 to $200. On top of that, most online practice tests charge $30 to $100 or require a subscription.
We think the practice test part should be free. Our platform gives you free practice tests for all 50 states that simulate real exam conditions — timed sessions, randomized questions, and a passing threshold of 80%.
After each attempt, you review every question with a detailed explanation of the correct answer. The goal is straightforward: help you identify weak areas before you sit for the real estate salesperson exam.

How Our Questions Are Developed
Every practice question on Realty License Prep is developed from official state licensing exam outlines and verified against current real estate law. Each state's Real Estate Commission publishes an exam content outline that lists the topic areas and their relative weight on the test. We use these outlines as the foundation for our question bank.
Questions cover both the national and state-specific portions of the salesperson exam. The national portion addresses property ownership, contracts and agency relationships, real estate financing, settlement procedures, fair housing law, and professional ethics. The state portion covers that state's license law, commission rules, trust fund requirements, and disciplinary procedures.
Each question includes an explanation that references the relevant legal concept or exam topic area. When states pass new legislation affecting real estate practice, we update the question bank and exam topics and concepts to reflect those changes. Recent updates include 2025–2026 buyer brokerage agreement requirements and revised agency disclosure rules.
